Clay joined the NALC and Branch 1484 when he joined the Postal Service, February 4, 1994.  He has served as the Shop Steward for South Hill, the Editor of the Newsletter, the Branch Scribe, and is currently the Branch Secretary/Treasurer.  He became active in the Branch immediately attending meetings, trainings, Regional Assemblies, State and National conventions.  Clay Joined the Postal service after twelve and 1/2 years on active duty with the U.S. Army.  Originally from the "Aloha" state of Hawaii, the Ching family has made Washington their home since 1985.  He and his wife of 30 years have two adult children.
